Solar powered banks for charging

Some time ago, we wrote about inductive charging of mobile phones on benches. This article is about a similar, but even more advanced concept: the possibility of charging mobile phones on a bench that generates energy via solar cells. Two of these benches can be found in front of the main railway station in Halle (Saale). They are each equipped with 3 x 45 W PV modules and allow both inductive and wired charging. This is particularly practical because many people only have their train ticket in digital form on their mobile phone, so if the battery is dead, the ticket cannot be shown.

The benches shown here from the company ibench also have various add-ons, such as charging options for e-bike batteries, lighting, weather stations and Wi-Fi hotspots. They are also available in a wide range of designs, from classic versions to sleek, modern concepts.
